Shrek Jr - Murray Musical 2025
We are thrilled to offer students in grades 3-5 an opportunity to participate in this year’s Murray Musical, SHREK the Musical, Jr.! Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in SHREK the Musical Jr., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairy tale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, SHREK Jr. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.
No prior acting experience is necessary. Our goal is to create an environment where every student can succeed and be a part of a great performance.

GRADES
Students in grades 3-5 are eligible to participate. All 3rd grade participants will be part of the ensemble (no individual roles).
COST
Grades 4 and 5 = $195
Grade 3 = $175
Scholarships are available – please contact Lissi Garcia at lgarcia@mamkschools.org
Registration fee does not include tickets to performances.
LOCATION: Casting Day, Read-Through, Rehearsals and Performances will be held in the Murray Auditorium.
ATTENDANCE: Students are expected to attend ALL scheduled rehearsals – this is of paramount importance given the condensed rehearsal schedule!
VOLUNTEERS: The musical is dependent upon the support of parent volunteers. We expect 75 kids per cast to participate and will need your help! Please remember to volunteer for a shift (or two or three) of rehearsals.
